Short Prayers Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with Infinite Love; broken by our ingratitude and pierced by our sins; yet loving us still; accept the consecration we make to Thee of all that we are and all that we have. Take every faculty of our souls and
bodies, only day by day draw us nearer and nearer to Thy
Sacred Heart; and there as we shall hear the lesson,
teach us Thy Holy Way. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed
be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. Oh, Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I
adore You. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me,console
me. Tell me what to do; direct my every choice. I promise
to submit myself to all that You desire of me and to
accept all that You permit to happen to me. Let me only
know Your will. Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is
with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is
now, and ever shall be, world without end. I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth. I am promising Dear Jesus,
Hail Holy Queen, mother of mercy; hail,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve; to you do we send up our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn
then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards
us; and after this our exile, show to us the blessed
fruit of your womb, Jesus Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom
His love commits me here; ever this day (or night) be at
my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. O Jesus, Who in Your bitter Passion
became "the most abject of men, a man of
sorrows," I venerate Your sacred Face whereon there
once shone the beauty and sweetness of the Godhead; but
now it has become for me as if it were the face of a
leper! Nevertheless, under those disfigured features I
recognize Your infinite love, and I am consumed witht
hedesire to love You and make You loved by all men. The
tears which well up abundantly in Your sacred eyes appear
to me as so many precious pearls tha ti love to gather
up, in order to purchase the souls of poor sinners by
means of their inifinte value. O Jesus, Whose adorable
Face ravishes my heart, I implore You to fix deep within
me Your divine image and to set me on fire with Your
love, that I may be found worthy to come to the
contemplation of Your glorious Face in Heaven.
Eternal Father, I offer thee the most precious blood of thy divine Son, Jesus Christ, in union with all the masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen. (This prayer was given to St. Gertrude by Jesus, and He told her that each time this prayer is said, 1,000 souls are released from purgatory. It has been added to in order to include souls of people who are still alive today.) Pledge your St. Gertrude prayers at www.mtep.com. |
