Spiritual Adoption

This is a prayer program where a person agrees to pray this little prayer every day for nine months for the safe birth of an unborn baby. This is the contract:

Certificate of Spiritual Adoption

I, ___________, willingly and joyfully agree to Spiritually Adopt this unborn baby and pray the following prayer on the baby's behalf for 9 months.

Baby's Name: _____________ Date:________

Spiritual Adoption Prayer

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, we love you very much. We pray You spare the life of the unborn baby that we have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.
Amen

The first part of the certificate is only the contract. The only part you need to say every day is the part under "Spiritual Adoption Prayer." Sometimes people have a hard time understanding this concept. They think, "I don't even know who it is!" But that's the point. God can and does take our prayers to be used in the area where they are most needed. You can give the baby a name (the first time I adopted a baby, her name was Rebecca), but that is primarily for you. It helps you to pray for a person who has a name. Some people say the prayer for a baby with a name starting with every letter of the alphabet everyday. If this part confuses you, leave the name out and pray for a baby at random. The big thing is to keep praying. People have been brutally killed for almost 30 years now! And until there is no more legal abortion anywhere in the world, we need to keep praying!

Idea: Print out this page and cut out the part with the certificate and prayer of spiritual adoption, fill it out, and keep it in a place that will make it hard to forget about saying this prayer every day.
